Welcome to my website, I offer a canine pregnancy scanning service  south of Bristol (North Somerset), . There is plenty of safe off road parking at my workplace also  acres of  land  to walk your dogs. I have been established since 2010, I have been breeding dogs for 40 years so I have a wealth of experience not only as a breeder but also a farmer's wife for 38 years.

Scans are carried out  in a calm environment and can take place any time after 28 days after the last mating, although my preference is between 32-35 days. It is not necessary to clip the dog's fur but sometimes, with owners permission a small amount of abdomen fur may need to be removed on excessively hairy breeds for optimum scan quality. Small/medium breeds can be scanned  standing on my non-slip scanbox and larger breeds can be scanned by simply  standing on the floor.

Most scans take no more than 15 minutes and confidentiality is assured. The scan involves a detailed examination of the abdomen to confirm pregnancy, a picture of your bitch's scan can be emailed to you if required, if you do not have a mobile phone. The cost of a pregnancy scan is £30 during the hours of 09.30am-4.30pm weekdays and various times on a  Saturdays (although I do sometimes extend these hours, please enquire), outside of these times could incur a minimum charge of £40

Ovulation Cytology

Cytology is where I swab your bitch and look at the cells under the microscope to check if she is in ovulation. This is something I have done for over 30 years with great success it is a non invasive way of checking for ovulation.

Another way of checking for ovulation is blood testing. I have a good relationship with Edita at Vets4Pets Clevedon who is happy to test my client's bitches with their Idexx machine. They can be contacted on 01275 335930.

Semen Analysis

Know the success rate of your artificial insemination by doing semen analysis!

Semen analysis might predict the success rate by reading the specific parameters of semen quality, such as the concentration, motility, progressive motility and movement characteristics.

The preservation of the semen sample also affect the pregnancy rate, where raw ejaculate semen will have lower rate compared to the chilled & extended semen due to it’s high viscosity and concentration.

iSperm’s will help you to predict the success rate by analysing the concentration, motility, progressive motility and the kinetics of your sperm sample with high accuracy and a complete data record.

What our customers are saying

Sharon scanned my girl last month and i couldn’t fault the experience. I’ve had scans done before by mobile scanners and vets who charge a lot more money. We arrived late because we were stuck in traffic and Sharron was so kind, she was brilliant to our little girl, very gentle and made sure she was comfy. The actual scanner she used was the best I’ve ever seen, we could clearly see the pups, heart beats, faces etc and Sharon let us take a video! She also offered us loads of advice and was just genuinely a nice lady. Will never go anywhere else now. Our girl had a litter of 7 healthy puppies last night which was the estimate given. We find the scans are helpful for what to expect and also if you have a single pup there’s more complications so we like to be prepared. We’d just like to say thank you Sharon
